Every September, the Evian Championship brings together the world's top female golfers for three days at Evian-les-Bains, and rewards the world's best player at the end of the season.
Since it began in 1994, the Evian Championship (formerly known as Evian Masters) has featured the world's greatest female golfers, like Laura Davies, Paula Creamer and Annika Sörenstam. In 2013, the prestigious tournament became one of the five Grand Slam tournaments of international women's golf. The Evian Championship thus became the first and only Major in Continental Europe. On that occasion, the entire course was renovated, and some holes were totally reworked. Located above Lake Geneva, the 18-hole course offers the public a unique experience in an exceptional setting.
Alongside the competition, there is a fair where visitors can talk with people involved in golf and learn about the sport. The exhibitors' stands and partner areas offer many activities for the public (like testing gear or tasting champagne). Throughout the event, there are free shuttles between Evian town centre and the Golf Course for visitors to use.
